Abstract

Energy has become one of the basic human needs, and the expanding population demands more energy for day-to-day needs. As the demand for energy increases, the easy solution where everyone relies is on the employment of fuel-powered generation systems, which adversely affect the ecology and the environment. In order to address the energy needs of the time without harming the environment, we need considerable investments in the renewable energy sector. Government alone cannot perform this task. A collective effort from government, public, and private investors is required here. In this chapter, the authors propose a case study of a private investor who has his own energy-independent system where all his energy needs are met with a minimal investment. He has been using it for five years. Improving this system and promoting similar energy independence initiatives can bring down the pooled energy demands.
