Education is directly related to Human Development Index. Shah (2016), Fägerlind and Saha (1989) and Ranis et. Al. (2000) are a few studies out innumerable studies that have established that there is a strong positive relationship between investment in education and national development. Countries with higher levels of education tend to experience greater economic growth, social progress, and overall human well-being. To emphasise the correlation between role of education, hence educators, on overall prosperity of human individuals, the statistics from OECD 2020 report on Education at a Glance 2020 is shown in Table 1 . Th Table 1 shows the positive relation between country-wise Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) for tertiary education and the Human Development Index (HDI) of the same countries.

Table 1 evidently establishes that as GER of a country increases, the prosperity of country’s people, indicated as HDI, also increases. Better HDI indicates long and healthy life and decent living standards.
The above conclusion lays the foundation of role of educators on well-being of human kind. Teachers are foundation of wellness of the world It is imperative for schools to universities today to create a competitive advantage for both the students and their communities by integrating the current trends in technology integration from PreK-12 to higher education (D’Agustino, 2016).
Why is technology integration important in education?
The 21st century has seen a tsunami of technological innovations in all sectors of industry (Schwab, 2017). The proliferation of smartphones and mobile apps, the emergence of electric and autonomous vehicles, breakthroughs in renewable energy and battery technologies, advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning, and the rapid growth of e-commerce and online services – all of these innovations have transformed how we live, work, and interact with the world.
Since times have changed, educators also need to change (D’Agustino, 2010 and 1016). Technology has changed educational landscape.
