Abstract

As the world becomes more concerned about environmental sustainability, organisations are realizing the importance of adopting sustainable practices that go beyond regulatory compliance. The research aims to bridge the gap in understanding the precise ways in which leadership affects employee perceptions, knowledge, and contributions to environmental management. The study collected 273 responses through online questionnaires from employees across different industries, including educational institutions. The study suggests a strong link between green transformational leadership and employees' green behavior. Specifically, green organizational identity, as a mediating factor, can enhance green innovative behaviors. The study highlights the importance of fostering green transformational leadership and the significance of environmental goals, employee conduct, and identification in promoting environmentally sustainable practices within organisations.
