The study is devoted to the determination of trends and transformations in the development of the industrial sector in the conditions of the fourth industrial revolution. The global priorities for ensuring the introduction of Industry 4.0 technologies have been analysed. The dynamics of the value added of industrial production in some countries have been determined. The ratio between the share of the value added of industrial production in the gross domestic product and the value added of medium and high-tech production in the section of the ICT subindex in individual countries has been analysed. The leading countries in the development of digitalization and the growth of industrial production have been identified. The leading global enterprises in the introduction of breakthrough technologies and the prerequisites for the development of Industry 5.0 have been identified. The main technologies for ensuring the optimization of production lines have been presented.
TopIntroduction
Nowadays qualitative and quantitative transformations associated with the implementation of the concept of Industry 4.0 are taking place all over the world. This coordinated initiative mobilizes there source base to accelerate the pace of structural technological transformations, whichwas adopted at the global level in 2014 at theWorld Economic Forum (World Economic Forum, Geneva, Switzerland). The conditions for the development of Industry 4.0 form the system advantages of accelerating the pace of horizontal and vertical integration of production and minimizing the costs of maintaining control systems. At the same time, ensuring the transition to Industry 4.0 involves the modernization of existing industrial systems with innovative technologies that provide sustainable solutions and sustainable production. Therefore, for the past years digital technology at the global level is increasingly appliedin the production processes in leading countries. Technologies in the field of the Internet of Things, Big Data, robotics, blockchain technologies, sensors, artificial intelligence, augmented reality and rapid prototyping technologies transferred to the processing plant industry. Nowadays thanks to innovative technologies in highly developed countries goods are developed, produced and consumed. Moreover, these technologies stimulate the development of new business models, services and form new models of consumer behaviour.
According to the main world priorities, the acceleration achievement goals for sustainable development until 2030 approved at the UN Summit. According to the Voluntary National Review of Sustainable Development Goals in Ukraine (Sustainable development knowledge platform, 2020) great importance attaches to SDG 8 “Decentwork and economic growth”, which should become an accelerator of transformations to achieve all goals. Inaddition, another SDG 9 is dedicated to the creation of sustainable infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization and innovation, which provides relevant infrastructure. In the conditions of Industry 4.0, the development of information and communication (ICT) technologies is the driving force fo rensuringglobaldigitalization, which is important to consider when studying thet ransformational effects of digitalization.
Ofcourse, the development of Industry 4.0 for countries with different stages of industrial development will differ in time and speed of technology implementation. However, given this transitional stage, developing countries are allowed to increase their share of industrialization, implement “smart” (SMART) factories based on digitalization, etc. supporting this development of events inUkraine, it is necessary to predict in details the challenges and opportunities associated withIndustry 4.0, taking into account the current stage of industrial development. That is why,it is important to study the best practices for the development of industrial production based on digitalization at the macro and microlevels, which will allow determining the main transformational effects of digitalization for production processes, and determines the relevance of this research. The purpose of the article is to determine the role of digitization of production for the development of industry based onIndustry 4.0 with a consideration of the main modern effects of its implementation at the macro and microlevels.
