Web-Based Collaboration and Decision Making Support: A Multi-Disciplinary Approach

Abstract

Arguing that a vvaryying levvel of formmalityy needs to be offered in syystemms supporting argummentativvecollaboration, this article proposes an incremmental formmalization approach that has been adopted in the devvelopmment of CoPe_it!, a Web-based tool that commplies with collaborativve principles and practices, andprovvides mmemmbers of commmmunities engaged in argummentativve discussions and decision mmakingprocesses with the appropriate mmeans to collaborate towards the solution of divverse issues. AAccording to the proposed approach, incremmental formmalization can be achievved through the consideration of alternativve projections of a collaborativve workspace.
