Abstract

This chapter traces my transformative journey to a leadership position in higher education. Unlike a singular defining moment, my path unfolded through events and a significant leap of faith, guiding me back to academia and culminating in a leadership role. Embracing change and adventure laid the groundwork, while an unwavering commitment to continuous learning became foundational. “Where There's a Will, There's a Way” explores the instrumental role of networking and mentorship in shaping my leadership trajectory, highlighting flexibility and adaptability through overcoming struggles. Defying age stereotypes and persevering formed another crucial aspect. Emphasizing personal fulfillment alongside professional achievement became pivotal, underscoring the multifaceted nature of my worldview. The continuous pursuit of harmonizing personal passions acted as a driving force, propelling me into leadership in higher education.
