Abstract

This research proposal explores the critical nexus between women's leadership, environmental conservation, and human rights. Recognizing the multifaceted challenges facing our planet, this study delves into the under-explored yet essential dimension of gender equality in conservation efforts. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature and the application of a human rights framework, the proposal aims to uncover the contributions of women to environmental stewardship, analyze the barriers they confront, and propose strategies for advancing gender equality in conservation. This paper underscores the importance of integrating a gender perspective into environmental policies and practices, highlighting how women's involvement in environmental advocacy not only promotes sustainable development but also advances gender equality and human rights.
