Abstract
During designing a software system iSpring Cloud (iSpring Solutions Inc.) there was a problem of persisting structures of folders and files uploaded by users of the system. Structure of folders and files uploaded by user is actually the semantic network with hierarchical relationships “folder (ancestor) - file (descendant)”. Thus, here arises a problem of semantic hierarchical networks storage method for a large number of users in a relational database (and in such data structures that would be suitable for quick hierarchy extraction using relational algebra operations).
