Abstract
Today's companies must be vigilant and flexible in the face of unanticipated occurrences, such as external crises, that heighten employee uncertainty and represent direct challenges to the organization's performance and sustainability. However, as a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic, companies are suddenly forced to traverse the unexpected and hence develop novel solutions to issues occurring across a wide range of operational domains. Several of these concerns are addressed in this chapter, with a particular emphasis on the transformation of human resource management (HRM) during COVID-19, as government and firms help their workers in adjusting to their significantly altered work environment.
