What is Rapid Prototyping
1.
The use of
rapid prototyping
methodologies is to reduce the production time by using working models of the final product early in a project tends to eliminate time-consuming revisions later on, and by completing design tasks concurrently, rather than sequentially throughout the project. The steps are crunched together to reduce the amount of time needed to develop training or a product. The design and development phases are done simultaneously and the formative evaluation is done throughout the process.

2.
A family of technologies that enable the relatively fast and low-cost production of products for testing and evaluation purposes.

4.
Rapid prototyping
is a method that involves creating a series of prototypes in
rapid
, iterative cycles. Normally, a prototype is created quickly, presented to users in order to obtain feedback on the design, and then a new prototype is created that incorporates that feedback. This cycle is continued until a fairly stable, satisfactory design emerges, which informs the design of a production-scale system.

5.
A step in software development process that supports user’s involvement in design by allowing users to see and experience the final system before it is built.

6.
It is a process in which designing of a machine or its parts is done on a computer and then its
rapid
fabrication is done with the help of other machines.

7.
Rapid prototyping
is a group of techniques used to quickly fabricate a scale model of a physical part or assembly using three-dimensional computer aided design (CAD) data. Construction of the part or assembly is usually done using 3D printing or “additive layer manufacturing” technology. However,
rapid
prototypes, particularly of metal parts, can also be produced through a “subtractive manufacturing” process known as chemical etching.

8.
Allows for computer-generated geometries of models and prototypes, with realization through a 3D printer, such as a fused deposition modeler, producing accurate forms in a polymer.

14.
A group of techniques, which has a vast application on several fields, such as architecture, art, engineering and industrial design. Using these technologies, and from a CAD3D geometrical file, it is possible in a few hours to build functional prototypes of components or even production tools, known as
Rapid
Tools or
Rapid
Manufacturing (RM).

15.
Rapid prototyping
is the idea of quickly assembling a physical part, piece or model of a product. This is often done using sophisticated computer-aided design or other assembly software, and physically implemented using 3-D printers.
