Abstract
The chapter examines the researchers' objective to see how gamification has been investigated in various science disciplines during the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact by grouping the findings into central concerns and core issues. The PRISMA approach is used to narrow down the list of relevant articles. The necessity for gamified interventions in the retail, education, and health domains is deliberated in this chapter. The findings suggest that academicians take the chance to collect empirical data and evaluate it in real-time to better understand the impact of gamification in a variety of professions.

Benefits and Disadvantages of Utilizing Gamified Learning in Higher Education: A Systematic Analysis
Leaderboards rank players according to their relative success, measuring them against a certain success criterion. As such, leaderboards can help determine who performs best in a certain activity, and are thus competitive indicators of progress that relate the player's own performance to the performance of others.

The Role of Gamification in Neurocognitive Rehabilitation
Feedback system that allows the comparison between the player’s own performance with the performance of other players. The two main types of leaderboards are the no-disincentive (i.e. the player sees himself constantly in the middle of the leaderboard, unless he is in the first places), and the infinite (i.e. the player sees the maximum score achieved by someone in the game, and their exact position in the set of all people who play/have played the game).
