Abstract
In the social science research understanding the link between entrepreneurship and unemployment has become an interesting issue of investigation. In the context of unemployment, it is the entrepreneurship, which is not just a mixture of innovation, ideas, attitudes for success, but also depends on the country specific laws and the infrastructure facilities. The countries with better entrepreneurial infrastructure are definitely more open to competition and entrepreneurial activities than others. The international economic crisis has further accelerated the flow of restructuring the entrepreneurship intervention in order to address continuous rise of unemployment. It is, therefore, necessary for each country to adopt measures to encourage people with self-employment and entrepreneurship for generating gainful income and livelihood promotion. This chapter has made an attempt to highlight the role of entrepreneurship development to combat the problem of unemployment among educated youths in India.
