What is Wireless Mobile Communication Systems (WMCS)

Encyclopedia of Information Science and Technology, Third Edition
Communication systems using wireless channels to offer information transfer services to a population of mobile users within a geographical area. The need for efficient reuse of the electromagnetic spectrum prompts the division of the system in cells. Each cell has a base station, responsible for managing and allocating resources, allowing to satisfy the user service requirements.
