The International Journal of Digital Innovation in the Built Environment (IJDIBE) provides new techniques and technologies for the optimization of performance, sustainability, and durability of new and existing buildings and infrastructure within a connected and sustainable built environment. It focuses on research domains ranging from digital design, construction and operations to smart and sustainable buildings, infrastructure, and cities, including building, infrastructure, and city level information modeling, resilient design, machine learning, and digital twins, covering all spatial contexts related to the urban and digital built environment. IJDIBE facilitates the exchange of current scientific information, as well as shares state-of-the art technological and innovative developments within the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry and urban and digital built environment. The journal provides a forum for information dissemination between academics and professionals associated with building and infrastructure lifecycle management, city planning and management, infrastructure management, all disciplines of geosciences, building and civil engineering, disaster management, logistics, environmental planning and conservation, computer graphics, data management, gaming, and so forth. In addition to academics, the primary audience of the journal also includes engineering, architectural, contracting, consultant, and facility management practitioners. The mission of the International Journal of Digital Innovation in the Built Environment (IJDIBE) is to provide a comprehensive and collective body of knowledge in the domains of the digital built environment, building and infrastructure performance and sustainability, building resources, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and 3D Geographical/Geospatial Information Models & Systems (3D GIS). The journal focuses on the use of novel information acquisition and modeling and management approaches for the AEC/Urban Management domains as well as the use of novel artificial intelligence, optimization, simulation, and visualization technologies, and innovations for enhancing the Smart and Connected Digital Built Environment. The journal encourages developments in these fields including research on the latest best practices, techniques, and technologies used to increase the quality and functionality of both new and existing buildings and infrastructure. IJDIBE focuses on both advanced technologies and soft aspects, including human, process, organizational, and industrial level problems, relating to the Digital Built Environment, BIM, and 3D GIS. What Does IGI Global's Open Access APC Cover?
In the traditional subscription-based model, the cost to the publisher to produce each article is covered by the revenue generated by journal subscriptions.
Under OA, all the articles are published under a Creative Commons (CC BY) license; therefore, the authors or funding body will pay a one-time
article processing charge (APC) to offset the costs of all of the activities associated with the publication of the article manuscript, including:
- Digital tools used to support the manuscript management and review process
- Typesetting, formatting and layout
- Online hosting
- Submission of the journal's content to numerous abstracts, directories, and indexes
- Third-party software (e.g. plagiarism checks)
- Editorial support which includes manuscript tracking, communications, submission guideline checks, and communications with authors and reviewers
- All promotional support and activities which include metadata distribution, press releases, promotional communications, web content, ads, fliers, brochures, postcards, etc. for the journal and its published contents
- The fact that all published articles will be freely accessible and able to be posted and disseminated widely by
the authors - Professional line-by-line English language copy editing and proofreading*
