Cloud Computing and Big Data are two emerging paradigms in the recent developments and play an increasingly critical role in all aspects of our lives. Cloud computing is a kind of Internet-based computing that provides shared processing resources and data to computers and other devices on demand. It is a model for enabling ubiquitous, on-demand access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources. Big data is a term for data sets that are so large or complex that traditional data processing applications are inadequate. Challenges include analysis, capture, data curation, search, sharing, storage, transfer, visualization, querying and information privacy. This special issue is focusing on the increasing interleaving between big data and cloud services. Numerous challenges and opportunities exist in these topics. The research papers selected for this special issue represent recent progresses in the field, including works on big data system, cloud services management, credible cloud service, and applications of cloud computing and big data services. This special issue includes five extended version of the selected paper originally presented at the 6th Chinese Conference on Cloud Computing, (CCCC 2015), held at Guilin China. The papers selected for this issue present high quality results for tackling problems arising from the ever-growing big data and cloud services.
