Impact Of Meat Consumption On Health And Environmental Sustainability Selected As IGI Global is pleased to announce that Professors Talia Raphaely and Dora Marinova from Curtin University, Australia, the two industry-leading editors who won the prestigious World Book Gourmand Award for their title The Impact of Meat Consumption on Health and Environmental Sustainability recently published a new book, Handbook of Research on Social Marketing and Its Influence on Animal Origin Food Product Consumption. This new authoritative publication examines the role of social marketing in understanding and changing behavior regarding the negative impacts of consuming animal-based foods.

Indeed, last year, the IGI Global book won the award in the sustainable food category at the 22nd Gourmand Awards held in Yantai, China on May 26-29, 2017. Considered the Oscars for cookbooks, the Gourmand Awards screened more than 10,000 books from 205 countries published in 2016 to elicit the world winners. Representatives from 52 countries attended the award ceremony. It was an amazing and highly competitive event.

The Impact of Meat Consumption on Health and Environmental Sustainability addresses the difficulties, challenges and opportunities in reducing excessive meat consumption in order to mitigate human and environmental damage. Policymakers, academicians, researchers, advanced-level students, technology developers and government officials will find this text useful in furthering their research exposure to pertinent topics such as dietary recommendations for limiting meat consumption, trade and the meat industry, use of antibiotics and meat production, ethics of meat production and consumption and the environmental impacts of meat consumption.

The editors also put together the following promotional video, providing some additional insight on this trending research.
