From China to Malaysia: IGI Global Will Exhibit at Annual BIBF and IFLA Conferences

By IGI Global on Aug 13, 2018
IGI-Global will attend the 25th Beijing International Book Fair in Beijing on August 22-26 at booth E1.L04. The international academic publisher looks forward to reconnecting with global partners to discuss their new 2019 initiatives. This is the ninth year IGI has attended BIBF. Dr. Mehdi Khosrow-Pour, President and CEO of IGI Global, Nick Newcomer, Marketing Manager, and Josh Witman, Business Manager, will represent the global academic publisher at the conference.

Hosting BIBF this year, is none other than China Publications Expo International (Expo Center), which is one of the main business units of China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporations. Established in 2009, the Expo Center commits to developing the exhibition business in the field of domestic publishing industry. The fair will introduce distinguished works from all over the world to China and leading Chinese books to the world. For the past 25 years, BIBF has received global support and participation from both domestic and international book and publishing industries.

After attending BIBF, IGI Global will be making an appearance at booth C110 the 84th IFLA General Conference and Assembly from August 24-30 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. During this conference, IGI Global will be speaking on their library-focused initiatives including:

  • New InfoSci-Database Pricing
IGI Global’s InfoSci-Database collection provides institutions the opportunity to purchase leading research at a fraction of the cost. Consisting of InfoSci®-Books, a collection of 4,500+ e-books offered as low as US$ 8,580, and InfoSci®-Journals, a collection of 175+ e-journals as low as US$ 5,100, this database offers key features such as full-text PDF and HTML format, no DRM, unlimited simultaneous users, COUNTER 4 Compliant Reports, and downloadable MARC records. For more information, click here.

  • InfoSci-Journals and New Open Access Program
For any library that invests in an IGI Global journal database, IGI Global will match the library’s investment with a fund of equal value to go toward subsidizing the open access article processing charge (APC) for their students, faculty, and staff at that institution when their work is submitted and accepted under open access into an IGI Global journal housed within that collection.* For more information, click here.

  • 100% Credit Program
As academic librarians continue to face lack of resources and more responsibility, many are trying to maintain the equilibrium between balancing funds and providing their patrons with the resources they need. As such, IGI Global will analyze libraries' existing IGI Global publication holdings and offer 100 percent credits toward the purchase of one of the InfoSci-Database collections. For a holdings analysis, contact: eresources@igi-global.com.

  • 25% Discount on all Purchases Through a Library Account
The international academic publisher offers librarians a 25% discount on all purchases when they sign up for an IGI Global library account. This discount applies to all of IGI Global's 4,500+ reference books, 175+ highly-cited journals, 100+ video lectures, and award-winning InfoSci-Databases. Sign up for an account here.

In addition, participants who stop by the booth at IFLA will have an opportunity to enter a US$ 100 VISA gift card giveaway and book raffle.

IFLA, short for the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, is the leading international body representing the interests of library and information services and their users. Known as the global voice of the library and information profession, IFLA hosts the World Library and Information Congress every year. This upcoming conference will be themed “Transform Libraries, Transform Societies” with the additional tagline: ‘Reaching out to the hard to reach.’ The theme was chosen in recognition of libraries’ critical role in national development, particularly in their ability to transform societies through the characterization of knowledge.

IGI Global is pleased to continue attending conferences all over the world that commit to innovative and emerging academic work, and the publisher looks forward to future events.

*InfoSci-Journals $5,100 annual subscription price is only available for new InfoSci-Journal subscriptions and cannot be combined with most offers.

**The fund will be offered on an annual basis and expire at the end of the subscription period. The fund would renew as the subscription is renewed for each year thereafter. The open access fees will be waived after the student, faculty, or staff’s paper has been vetted and accepted into an IGI Global journal and the fund can only be used toward publishing OA in an IGI Global journal. Libraries in developing countries will have the match on their investment doubled.
