Currently Seeking: Book Evaluators

By IGI Global on Aug 16, 2019
As you know IGI Global strives to publish titles on the most cutting-edge research areas across a variety of publication types. With our huge expansion of content in the forthcoming copyright year, we are seeing more authored publications moving through our editorial processes than ever before.

Although our authored book publication projects are already subjected to an internal evaluation process (not to be confused with the same review process that our serial publications (i.e. journals) undergo), from time-to-time we call on external evaluations for these works to complement the process and support us in determining the viability/merit and market potential of the work. Therefore we are currently seeking qualified individuals to lend their expertise to the evaluation process for authored books, both for our standard-sized authored monographs which typically range between 11 to 15 chapters in length, and our smaller more compact authored monographs, our research insights line of publications, which typically range between 8 to 10 chapters in length.

The research insights publications are very niche and innovative publications featuring targeted reflections and summaries of trending topics of research across disciplines such as, but not limited to, specific disease research, economic and environmental policy, petroleum refining, research methods, and various kinds of tourism. We are currently seeking evaluators across all research areas who have a doctorate (or an equivalent degree) as well as publishing and reviewing experience.

Evaluators will be requested to complete a set of open-ended evaluation questions with as much detail as possible in a timely, collegial, and constructive manner. All evaluator appointments will run for one-year terms and each evaluator is expected to complete at least three book evaluations per term. Due to the length of the publications, evaluators of research insights will receive an honorarium per three evaluations, and evaluators of the larger standard-sized authored monographs will receive an honorarium per evaluation. Upon successful completion of the one-year term, evaluators can be considered for an additional term.

If interested, please fill out the application here (select from the "publication type" dropdown which type of publication you prefer to evaluate: standard authored books or research insights authored books). Also, if you know of a colleague who may be interested in this opportunity, we encourage you to share this information with them as well.

Should you have any questions, please send all inquiries to development@igi-global.com.
