Will We Ever Return to “Business As Usual?”

Digital Innovations are Driving Permanent Change

By IGI Global on Apr 24, 2023
0 During the height of the global Covid-19 pandemic, businesses were pushed to innovate and rework their practices by implementing organizational transformations, shifting to telework, and analyzing best practices for maintaining customer relationships. A global survey published last year shows that 72% of respondents reported working remotely in September of 2020, and by the end of 2022, 45% of respondents were still exclusively teleworking. The reference book, Handbook of Research on Digital Innovation and Networking in Post-COVID-19 Organizations (ISBN: 9781668467626) published by IGI Global and led by an expert in Economics with over a decade of experience, explores the various difficulties and potential future directions of networking and innovation within the business landscape in the post-covid-19 era.
Prof. Marcelo Dionisio (Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
SMEs contribute with 40% of GDP in emerging economies, and in Brazil, because of the pandemics, they had to accelerate their digital transformation (DT) to maintain their economic activity, moving from physical stores to the virtual environment using websites, social networks, and messaging applications. The purpose of this work is to examine in 20 Brazilian SMEs - challenges, strategies, and activities they had faced in this process, and analyze the results and impacts of this rushed digital transformation.
