Read and Publish Model
While IGI Global strongly recommends that authors seek out English language copy editing and proofreading of their work prior to submission to ensure that reviewers are not distracted by grammatical errors or other issues, this line-by-line English language copy editing and proofreading of the final accepted manuscript will ensure that the final published work is published with the highest level of quality. This benefit is added to a long list of services provided with APCs and CPCs:
  • Digital tools used to support the editorial management and review process
  • Typesetting, formatting and layout
  • Online hosting
  • Submission of the content to numerous abstracts, directories, and indexes
  • Third-party software (e.g. plagiarism checks)
  • Editorial support which includes manuscript tracking, communications, submission guideline checks, and communications with authors and reviewers
  • All promotional support and activities which include metadata distribution, press releases, promotional communications, web content, ads, fliers, brochures, postcards, etc. for the
    published contents
  • The fact that the published content will be freely accessible and able to be posted and disseminated widely by the authors
  • Professional line-by-line English language copy editing and proofreading*
*This service is only performed on manuscripts with fully paid (not discounted or waived) APC or CPC fees.

APCs and CPCs for open access work are necessary because there is no revenue generated by subscriptions or a paywall, as under OA, the publications are published under the Creative Commons (CC BY) license, and as such are freely accessible to the public. In order to ensure that OA publishing is affordable and accessible, IGI Global is committed to ensuring that open access processing charges are lower than the industry standard. We do understand that some authors may have difficulty securing OA funding, and as such IGI Global provides an Open Access Funding Resources page for authors to browse options for OA funding.
