Lucano Crespi's book presentation at Triennale highlights and promotes the recent title Design Innovations for Contemporary Interiors and Civic Art
IGI Global Announces Book Presentation at Triennale di Milano
By
Elizabeth Leber
on
May 8, 2017
Hershey, PA – May 8, 2017
– IGI Global, an international publisher of progressive information science and technology research, is pleased to announce the book presentation of
Design Innovations for Contemporary Interiors and Civic Art
, edited by
Luciano Crespi
(Politecnico di Milano, Scuola del Design, Italy) at Triennale di Milano. Aside from being an esteemed scholar and researcher, Luciano Crespi is currently an architect and a professor of design at the School of Design of Politecnico di Milano.
Triennale di Milano,
design museum, is presenting the title on
May 30, 2017
. The book, through the essays written by designers, architects and researches from all over the world, offers a recollection of the state of the art interior design and everything that can be considered borderline with its disciplinary territory: art, exhibition design, retail, anthropology, urban interior and restoration representation.
The speakers and moderator at this forthcoming event include:
Silvia Piardi, director of dipartimento di design, Politecnico di Milano
Luisa Collina, head of scuola del design, Politecnico di Milano
Graeme Brooker, head of programme, interior design, Royal College of Art, London
Marti Guixé, designer
Attilio Stocchi, architect
Giuseppe Amoruso, scuola del design, Politecnico di Milano (moderator)
This presentation is an opportunity for the title, which examines novel techniques in structural designs in various cultural and social scenarios, to gain exposure in the academic community.
Design Innovations for Contemporary Interiors and Civic Art
features innovative application methods, emergent trends and research on tools being utilized in the field, and the publication is a pivotal reference source for designers, researchers, practitioners and professionals interested in interior design, urban culture and structural aesthetics.
The following noteworthy review highlights the valuable content within this title.
“The essays in this book exemplify the assembled enclosure and thus the new interior. They range from the limitless to the confined, mobile to the static, they contain ritualized, gestural site-specific and terrain-vagues. Anthropologies of the urban interior feature heavily. The essays contain, as one describes, an archipelago of relationships. I enjoyed reading the essays in the book, a publication that has been intelligently curated and expertly edited by Luciano Crespi, a role that must have been similar to directing a particularly complex movie, and all of its constituent parts. I read this book up close and at a distance, viewed it at a glance and slowly, read it in a variety of environments, from trains to airports, to streets to my home. It felt right in all of these surroundings, and made me reflect upon the setting in which I was located. It made some of them appear new, as if was seeing and experiencing many of them for the first time.” (Dalla prefazione di Graeme Brooker).
Furthermore, this publication is part of the
Advances in Media, Entertainment, and the Arts
(AMEA) book series, which explores current academic research in the field of artistic and design methodologies, applied arts, music, film, television, and news industries, as well as popular culture. This title is currently available for pre-order on the
IGI Global Bookstore
as well as through the InfoSci® Databases, which offer full-text book chapters and journal articles from over 2,600 books and 158 scholarly journals. To adopt this book for use in courses, please contact
