IGI Global’s Open Access Initiative, Publishing Opportunities and Engineering Publications are Showcased in Salt Lake City

IGI Global Discusses Publishing and Open Access Opportunities for Researchers at the 2018 ASEE Annual Conference & Exposition

By IGI Global on Jul 10, 2018
From June 24-27, 2018, IGI Global participated in the 2018 ASEE Annual Conference & Exposition at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, UT. Because of the academic publisher’s extensive collection of engineering titles, IGI Global was eager to collaborate and discuss with other attendees about their trending publications and initiatives. Contributors and attendees who visited the booth were able to view the IGI Global books on display and enter a drawing for a free engineering reference publication or a $100 VISA gift card.

Caroline Campbell, Marketing Manager, and Alex Johnson, Marketing Coordinator, represented IGI Global at the conference. While there, they discussed and collaborated with faculty members, engineering professionals, and other industry representatives about IGI Global’s publishing services and programs.

“It was exciting to meet with so many industry-leaders within the field of Engineering and Education,” stated Campbell. “As Engineering and Education are becoming two of our best-selling subject areas, we learned a lot about the trending topics within the fields, as well as had the opportunity to assist in providing institutions and professionals with the resources they need.”

One initiative highlighted at the booth was IGI Global’s Open Access Fee Waiver Initiative. As an affordable alternative to typical Open Access fees, IGI Global’s Open Access Initiative enables researchers to affordably publish Open Access when their library invests in InfoSci®-Journals, a collection of 175+ journals, or one of IGI Global’s smaller journal collections. For any library that invests in one of these databases, IGI Global will match the library’s investment with a fund of equal value to go toward subsidizing the open access article processing charge (APC) for their students, faculty, and staff at that institution when their work is submitted and accepted under open access into an IGI Global journal housed within that collection.* To take advantage of this program, recommend one of the InfoSci-Journal databases to your librarian today!

IGI Global also shared their publishing opportunities for researchers in engineering and other fields. Having been a prominent academic publisher for 30 years, IGI Global strives to offer authors and editors a seamless publishing experience by aiding in the conceptualization, development, production, marketing, and distribution of their research. With personalized one-on-one care, expeditious publishing process, supportive technologies, sound ethical practice, and a desire to disseminate research worldwide sets IGI Global apart as a distinguished and reputable publishing house.

In addition to their initiatives, the academic publisher also showcased their new engineering publications in the InfoSci-Engineering subject database. With over 340 e-books focusing on all aspects of engineering, IGI Global’s engineering database offers an important collection of emerging research encompassing computer engineering, electrical engineering, materials science, and other core topic areas. Featuring both yearly subscription and perpetual purchasing options, IGI Global’s engineering database provides researchers with the tools they need.

With more than 400 technical sessions, the ASEE Conference was an important event for IGI Global to interact with engineering researchers and educators. If you weren’t able to see us, be sure to catch us upcoming conferences. We look forward to future collaboration with both researchers and educators.

*The fund will be offered on an annual basis and expire at the end of the subscription period. The fund would renew as the subscription is renewed for each year thereafter. The open access fees will be waived after the student, faculty, or staff’s paper has been vetted and accepted into an IGI Global journal and the fund can only be used toward publishing OA in an IGI Global journal. Libraries in developing countries will have the match on their investment doubled.
