FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hershey, PA—July 5, 2019- IGI Global’s publication, Handbook of Research on Social Marketing and Its Influence on Animal Origin Food Product Consumption, edited by Dr. Diana Bogueva, Prof. Dora Marinova, and Prof. Talia Raphaely from Curtin University, Australia, earned a finalist spot in the 2019 International Book Awards sponsored by the American BookFest. The book was selected from 2,000 entries and earned one of two finalist spots in Business: Marketing and Advertising.

The International Book Awards' mission is to reward “excellence in publishing,” and as such, each publication underwent a rigorous review from a panel of industry judges within the areas of editorial, public relations, marketing, and design. This award was created in 2009 and encompasses both fiction and nonfiction by highlighting hard work, creativity, and talent within mainstream, independent, and self-publishing industries.

The Handbook of Research on Social Marketing and Its Influence on Animal Origin Food Product Consumption, which features the research from over 30+ contributors through 20 chapters, examines the role of social marketing in understanding and changing behavior regarding the negative impacts of consuming animal-based foods. Featuring coverage on a broad range of topics, such as the psychology of meat consumption, food waste, and meat substitutes, this publication is geared towards academicians, students, and professionals seeking current research on social marketing interventions and the demarketing of meat.

As this title contained niche and emerging research along with real-world case studies, the research within this publication enabled the reference title to stand out amongst the competitors within Business: Marketing and Advertising.

Historically, these editors have been noted as leaders within the field of analyzing and examining meat consumption effects culture and the environment as their previous IGI Global publication, Impact of Meat Consumption on Health and Environmental Sustainability, won the 2016 Best in the World Award as well as the 2017 Best Sustainable Food Book Awardfrom the Gourmand Awards. The Gourmand Awards “[honor] the best food and wine books, printed or digital, as well as food television.” They share the International Book Awards’ commitment to rewarding publications from independent and mainstream publishers as well as private, public, and self-published works.

IGI Global is honored to bring light to this valuable research, and would like to congratulate Dr. Bogueva, Prof. Marinova, and Prof. Raphaely for this notable accomplishment. Additionally, this publication joins the many others in IGI Global’s ranks to have garnered prestigious awards, which can be found on IGI Global’s awards page.
