IGI Global Joins OAPEN

By IGI Global Open Access Division on Sep 27, 2022
OAPEN logo IGI Global is becoming more active in the open access book publishing movement, as of September 2022, our publishing house has been accepted as a member of Open Access Publishing in European Networks (OAPEN), a not-for-profit organization based in the Netherlands, with its registered office at the National Library in The Hague. OAPEN is dedicated to open access, peer-reviewed books offering OAPEN’s online library and publication platform, which serves as a central repository for hosting and disseminating open access books, and also sends information for indexing to the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB), a discovery service for open access books. The aim of OAPEN is to work with publishers to build a quality-controlled collection of open access books and IGI Global is thrilled to be a part of this initiative.
As we just released our first full open access book this year, Handbook of Research on the Global View of Open Access and Scholarly Communications, through funding from the University of North Texas, USA that was secured under an Open Access Agreement, we are sure that this collaboration with OAPEN will provide increased visibility for this book and many other open access books scheduled for forthcoming release in the year ahead.
