By IGI Global Scientific Publishing on May 4, 2018
IGI-Global's-UKSG-Booth From April 9 to 11, IGI Global attended the UKSG 41st Annual Conference and Exhibition in Glasgow, U.K. along with over 900 other people. As a new member of this organization, which serves as a platform bringing the scholarly publishing community together to foster collaboration and exchange of ideas, IGI Global had the chance to share some of its programs and initiatives with attendees.

Through attending this conference, IGI Global was able to reaffirm its position as a leading academic publisher on the global stage as such, Dr. Mehdi Khosrow-Pour, President and CEO, Nick Newcomer, Director of Marketing, and Taylor Rudnick, Account Coordinator, were delighted to meet and interact with librarians from all over the world. Rudnick was especially pleased with her chance of meeting these members, as well as meeting closing Keynote speaker Prof. Vijaya Nath, Director of Leadership Development:

“I thoroughly enjoyed getting the opportunity to connect with librarians at UKSG. Through our new membership with the organization, IGI Global looks forward to further solidifying our presence in the UK and supporting their mission to ‘disseminate news, information, publications, and research to enhance knowledge of the scholarly information.’”

Additionally at the conference, the international publisher showcased its new simple, transparent pricing on the award-winning InfoSci®-Databases, including:

  • InfoSci-Journals, a collection of 175+ journals containing thousands of articles with over one million reference citations, which is now being offered for an annual subscription rate as low as $US 4,950.

  • InfoSci-Books, a collection of over 3,900 books containing 86,000 chapters, which is being offered for as low as US$ 16,500 for a perpetual purchase of 2018 copyright year titles.

“Our new transparent pricing structure was well-received at this conference, and many librarians expressed their excitement towards our new programs, together with our InfoSci-Journals pricing and Open Access initiative,” explained Rudnick. “We look forward to future collaborations with many institutions and are excited to continue the momentum into the coming months in attending SLA 2018 Annual Conference, ALA Annual, and the Charleston Conference.”

The new pricing structure was in response to the ongoing pressure librarians are faced with when they are acquiring new content. Hosting IGI Global’s expanding portfolio of books and journals in 11 core subjects comprising of business and management, computer science and IT, education, engineering, and social sciences and humanities, these databases provide emerging research at budget-friendly prices and features librarian and research-friendly features encompassing no embargo of content, unlimited simultaneous access, and full-text PDF and XML viewing options.

IGI Global would like to thank all the people who stopped by our stand, and we look forward to long-lasting relationships and collaborations that will benefit the academic community.
