IGI Global’s Research Through the Decades

For 30 years, IGI Global has focused on the belief that all research should be published, even the most niche and selective disciplines. Because of this foundation, the academic publisher has continually showcased the most emerging topics and technologies, regardless of their profitability. While IGI Global initially began with a focus on information science and technology, the publisher has now expanded to include 11 diverse subject areas and over 100 categories.       As IGI Global’s first publication, the International Resources Management Journal (IRMJ) was start of IGI Global as an academic publisher. Established in 1988, the journal continues to be published quarterly today and is indexed in over 40 indices, including Web of Science Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Scopus, Compendex (Elsevier Engineering Index), and INSPEC.

    (1989) Journal of Microcomputer Systems Management (JMSM) (Now: Journal of Organizational and End User Computing (JOEUC))
    Dr. Steven Walczak (University of South Florida, USA)
      JMSM initially began with a focus on managing micro-based information system applications. Today, now as JOEUC, the journal emphasizes how to increase organizational and end user productivity and performance, and how to achieve organizational strategic and competitive advantage.

    (1990) Utilization and Management of Information Technology
    Dr. Mehdi Khosrow-Pour (Information Resources Management Association, USA) and Dr. Gayle Yaverbaum (Pennsylvania State University at Harrisburg, USA)
