Impact Of Meat Consumption On Health And Environmental Sustainability Selected As Impact of Meat Consumption on Health and Environmental Sustainability was recently selected as the "Best Sustainable Foods Book" in Gourmand International's Gourmand Awards.

The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards were founded in 1995 by Edouard Cointreau. Every year, they honour the best food and wine books, printed or digital, as well as food television. Books from 205 countries participate in these prestigious awards, the only international competition of the sector. It is free, and open to all languages. The Gourmand Awards have been compared to the Oscars in identifying outstanding food developments and research.

Impact of Meat Consumption on Health and Environmental Sustainability, edited by Curtin University scholars Talia Raphaely and Dora Marinova, addresses the difficulties, challenges, and opportunities in reducing excessive meat consumption in order to mitigate human and environmental damage. Policymakers, academicians, researchers, advanced-level students, technology developers, and government officials will find this text useful in furthering their research exposure to pertinent topics such as dietary recommendations for limiting meat consumption, trade and the meat industry, ethics of meat production and consumption, and the environmental impacts of meat consumption. The “Best Sustainable Food Book” is presented to an outstanding title that focuses on the best research established in developing food that is healthy for consumers.

The title will go on to compete in its category against winners from other countries for the "Best in the World." The results will be announced May 27th and 28th, 2017, at the annual Gourmand Awards Ceremony in Yantai, China.
