What Special Education Leaders Need to Know

Is the Montessori Method Universal?

By IGI Global on Mar 15, 2023
Children Learning It is more than a century since the Italian doctor and educator Maria Montessori designed her famous principles, which encouraged children to develop autonomy from a young age. Since then, there has been an estimated 60,000 schools all over the world that have adopted the Montessori method. The recent book, New Considerations and Best Practices for Training Special Education Teachers (ISBN: 9781799894940), published by IGI Global, and led by an expert with 20+ years of experience, serves as a guide of what educators must know to be effective within the classroom and provides an overview of the most important components of the special education teacher’s responsibilities and their needs, combined with new research in the field.
Many special educators complete graduate degrees and explore a variety of topics within the special education context; however, there is a need for more resources that provide essential knowledge to special education professionals. – Prof. Jeremy Bell (University of Louisiana at Monroe, USA)
