A New Year Brings New Open Access Publications

By IGI Global Open Access Division on Jan 3, 2022
stack of journals As we enter 2022, IGI Global is once again set to increase its open access (OA) holdings dramatically in the new year. Having converted another batch of 30 hybrid OA/subscription-based journals (view full list here) to gold OA and at the same time launching three wholly new gold OA journals, there are a plethora of OA publishing opportunities for interested authors. IGI Global’s OA portfolio now holds 111 hybrid OA journals, 64 gold OA journals, 1 platinum OA journal, and two full OA books that are currently in development and set for release in the 2022 calendar year. Additionally, all of our books calling for chapter submissions provide authors the option of publishing their work either OA or standard.
Open Access Fee Waiver Initiative
These publications all represent a broad range of subjects, including business, computer science, education, medicine, healthcare, social sciences, information science, and more. All IGI Global OA publications are published under a CC BY license (where the authors maintain the copyright and others can distribute, adapt, and build upon the work without limitations) and the work is freely accessible to all.
We invite interested contributors to consider submitting OA research to any of our publications.
Benefits of OA Publishing Include:
  • Affordable OA Processing Charges (much lower than the industry average)
  • Rigorous and Expediate Publishing
  • Networking and Collaboration Opportunities
  • Increased Discoverability and Acceleration of Citation Impact
  • Submission of the Content to Abstracts, Directories, and Indices
  • Full-Service Publishing and Promotional Support
  • Published Work is Freely Accessible to
    the Masses
  • Manuscripts Submitted and Accepted in the new year with paid (not waived) OA Processing Charges will Benefit from line-by-line English Language Copy Editing and Proofreading
IGI Global aims to continue to keep OA processing charges affordable, varying between US $1,050 and US $2,300 for journal articles and a flat US $2,300 for book chapters (compared to competing OA publishers, including Springer, Elsevier, etc. that charge US $3,000 - US $11,000+).
Also, IGI Global is committed to making OA publishing as attainable and seamless as possible. We work to provide resources for authors seeking funding for OA publishing, which includes IGI Global's Open Access Fee Waiver (Read & Publish) Initiative. IGI Global is also expanding its presence through aggregation in a number of internationally-recognized OA repositories and actively ensuring our compliance with numerous funding organizations.
For questions regarding OA publishing, please do not hesitate to contact IGI Global’s Open Access Division at openaccessadmin@igi-global.com.
