On the Open Road

researchers around the world represented by an image of a globe overlaid on an image of silhouettes of many people Last year, IGI Global proudly joined with experts from our very first fully Open Access book, as well as with Zendy, an OA book distribution partner, to present our perspectives on Open Access at the 2023 Charleston Conference. The video begins with Dr. Daniel Alemneh, editor of the book, the Handbook of Research on the Global View of Open Access and Scholarly Communications, and author of Chapter 7 in the book, Angela Ford. They discuss the reasons for making this book and what led to their decision to make it open access. The second segement is led by IGI Global's Managaing Director of Marketing, Genevieve Robinson, where she discusses the many ways in which IGI Global has supported OA initiatives. Finally, the third segment is presented by Sara Crowley Vigneau, Partnerships Manager for Zendy, a global digital library. Sara discusses the OA book's journey post-publication, and the impact that these publications are having on a global scale.
On the Open Road
This recording was a collaboration between the experts behind the open access (OA) book, the Handbook of Research on the Global View of Open Access and Scholarly Communications, the book’s publisher, IGI Global, and one of IGI Global’s OA distribution partners, Zendy. You will see a representation of researcher, publisher, and distributor perspectives on OA, its challenges, process, and benefits for the academic community. This was originally recorded as a presentation for the 2023 Charleston Conference.
