By IGI Global Scientific Publishing on Oct 10, 2025
OA Week Image New York, NY, October 10, 2025 - IGI Global Scientific Publishing—dedicated to "Publishing Tomorrow's Research Today" since 1988—joins three other major open access and publishing organizations, in celebration of this year’s International Open Access Week, to host a webinar titled “Who Owns Our Knowledge? The Future of Equitable Open Access.” For this free, thought-provoking and timely webinar, IGI Global Scientific Publishing will collaborate with eContent Pro International Press, the Open Access Publishing Association (OAPA), and the Open Science Education Institute (OSEI).
Aiming to answer the question from this year’s International Open Access Week theme, “Who Owns Our Knowledge?” the panel will address pressing concerns around commercialization, AI exploitation, and unequal access to publishing platforms. The webinar seeks to examine how to balance openness with privacy and consent, ensuring knowledge is not only free to access but also ethically and equitably shared. The webinar is free to attend and open to all, but registration is limited.
