Be the Positive Change to Academic Publishing:

Participate in IGI Global’s Academic Publishing Trends & Open Access Survey

By IGI Global on Mar 24, 2023
taking online survey The publishing industry, and academia in general, has been forced to navigate quite a few tumultuous events in the past few years including a pandemic, new international initiatives, and a call for the greater accessibility of research. As publishers continue to shift publishing models to accommodate researchers needs, more and more challenges and controversies are coming to light.
In an effort to create a more realistic outlook on the problems currently challenging the publishing industry, IGI Global invites all publishing stakeholders – researchers, academicians, librarians, professionals, etc. – to participate in the Academic Publishing Trends & Open Access Survey, which takes about 15 minutes to complete, to help us to better understand such themes as:
  • Biases in academia and publishing
  • Electronic vs print format options
  • Open access publishing
  • Funding compliances
  • Predatory publishing
  • Publishing mandates and limitations
  • Research discoverability
  • And more!
All participant responses will remain anonymous. The results of this survey will be carefully analyzed and summarized in a report that will be shared with the academic community and used to develop a realistic outlook on the future of the publishing industry, while also ensuring that publishers are able to better address the issues that are facing all publishing stakeholders. It is our hope that the analyses of the findings of this survey will allow publishers to better prepare to address all issues and concerns of our publishing stakeholders.
Every participant who completes the survey (and provides an email address that will not be used for any means other than contacting drawing winners) will be eligible to win one of five $200 USD Amazon gift cards or one of five $250 USD IGI Global credits*. Winners will be randomly selected upon the survey’s closure.
We hope you take advantage of this opportunity to voice your opinions and concerns on the current directions in the industry!
*Five participants will be rewarded the full amount of USD $250 upon the closure of the survey. Participants will be notified by IGI Global via email. Credits may be used on the purchase of any IGI Global book, chapter, or subscription-based journal article. Credits are non-transferable. Credits expire 12/31/2023.

Being an Editor-in-Chief (EiC) of academic open access journals is not always a simple endeavor. We recently reached out to Drs. Sang-Bing Tsai of the International Engineering and Technology Institute and Wei Liu of Qingdao University, who are the EiCs of Journal of Organizational and End User Computing (JOEUC) and the International Journal of Information Technologies and Systems Approach (IJITSA ) to hear their thoughts, outlook, and mission for leading two open access journals.
