Dear Esteemed Librarians,

In this age of unprecedented information production, transmission, and consumption, IGI Global is at the forefront of advancing research and innovation through swift, ethical, and open content publishing. As I have entered my 17th year with IGI Global I have first-hand knowledge surrounding the astounding progress our organization has achieved over the last several years, and I am excited to share with you some of our latest updates and prospects for the year ahead.

Achieving Remarkable Growth and Unmatched Publishing Speed

The world’s unprecedented demand for research findings that advance innovation is what drives us to stay at the cutting edge of new discoveries. At IGI Global, we continuously evolve, setting new standards by “Publishing Tomorrow’s Research Today.”

This year, we've successfully released more than 650 books, spanning the major subject areas of: Business & Management; Scientific, Technical & Medical (STM); and Education. Looking forward, our commitment to excellence leads us to an anticipated production of at least 800+ books annually, with a vision to exceed 1,000+ publications annually by 2025.

We have decreased our turnaround times to an unparalleled 6-9-month timeline (much faster than industry standards) from project contracting to the final print and e-book availability, all while upholding the highest standards of ethics, rigor, and quality. Our swift process ensures that your library can support your faculty, students, and researchers in staying at the forefront of academic discourse and be well-equipped for the future.

We are more than happy to recommend titles in areas of need to your library to fill existing knowledge gaps, as well as look at ways we can support you in refreshing your collection with the latest titles on a particular topic.

All our published books are deposited into our user-friendly e-Book Collection platform, ensuring that you can easily acquire these reference works at a fraction of their individual list price.

Our Open Access Commitment 2023/2024

Our dedication to open access is a core focus. We've undergone a significant transformation, transitioning all our scholarly journals from hybrid to gold open access. This has positioned IGI Global’s Open Access Journal Program among the world's largest fully open access journal publishers, featuring thousands of open access peer-reviewed articles published across nearly 200 fully open access scholarly journals in the areas of Business & Management; Scientific, Technical, & Medical (STM); and Education. These articles are readily accessible on our platform, with IP-authenticated and remote access options, simplifying access for libraries and institutions, empowering them to seamlessly integrate our open access resources into their discovery services. For inquiries regarding the seamless integration of IGI Global's open access resources into your library's collection, please reach out to our e-Collection Specialist, Will Hartley,
at whartley@igi-global.com.

In addressing the challenges associated with open access publishing, especially for authors, we conducted a comprehensive survey on "Annual Academic Publishing Trends and Open Access" which can be viewed here. The survey revealed valuable insights into the state of open access publishing, highlighting knowledge and support issues. We're committed to addressing these challenges through collaborative efforts with publishers, funders, and institutions/libraries to provide better support for researchers seeking open access opportunities.

In response to the increasing need for open access within academic libraries, IGI Global offers libraries the opportunity to actively support their faculty's open access publishing aspirations through our Institutional Open Access Agreements. These agreements provide upfront funding options coupled with discounted Article Processing Charges (APCs) for institutions allocating their budget toward open access initiatives. We are also more than happy to review additional possibilities for offering attainable and affordable open access publishing opportunities to your institution. Our extensive collection of high-impact journals is well-prepared to receive faculty submissions, making these agreements beneficial to both faculty and institutions. To explore the possibilities of an IGI Global Institutional Open Access Agreement, please contact Nick Newcomer, our Vice President of Sales & Marketing, at nnewcomer@igi-global.com.

We Look Forward to Collaborating With You

In conclusion, we at IGI Global are dedicated to collaborating with librarians, researchers, educators, and institutions worldwide to achieve their goals and make a lasting impact on the academic community. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we embark on this exciting journey together.

Sincerely,

0
