What inspired you to write your chapter?
Prof. AuYong: I was inspired by the increasing cases of cyber victimization, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic until now.
What is your mission for the title? Prof. AuYong: I want to bring awareness to the issue of transacting cyberspaces to minimize the presence of cybercrime victimization.
How is your research going to impact your field and how does it relate to current trends and social matters?
Prof. AuYong: This book chapter seeks users' risk perception and its relevancy to cyber fraud victimization, and how they can manage online risks while exploring solutions to combat the risks of cyber fraud victimization. The post-pandemic (current) trend of accelerated development of digital economy may cause impacts on social matters, such as mental and physical health problems that may damage a person’s health, in relation to cyber fraud victimization, especially with seniors.
Who is the publication intended for? Who ultimately will benefit from this title?
Prof. AuYong: The publication is intended for primary researchers and secondary authorities as they will be able to comprehend the bigger picture and provide effective solutions in mitigating cybercrimes.
What do you want people to know about your publication before they read it?
Prof. AuYong: Ideally, they should know about the basic infrastructures that support the development of digital economy, cyber security, compliance requirements, and stakeholders of the electronic commerce.
How does your publication stand out from others like it?
Prof. AuYong: The book chapter explains the routine activity theory to consider the risk perception of online users.
What are some future directions for your research?
Prof. AuYong: I want to further explore the development of digital economies, in terms of the essential digital literacies necessary for future generations so they can fill new jobs created for digital transformation of firms and ecosystems.
What are other topic areas that your readership would find of interest?
Prof. AuYong: Topics such as sustainable development in primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors in agriculture, logistics & supply chain, and tourism are all excellent fields of interest related to the issue of cyber crime.

About the Contributor
Au Yong Hui Nee holds a PhD degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia, a graduate of MA Economics from University of Tsukuba and Bachelor of Science (Honours) Resource Economics from Universiti Putra Malaysia. She is an associate professor / Dean of the Faculty of Business and Finance, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman. She was sponsored to attend Impact Evaluation Methods by World Bank Group and Women’s Director Programme by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development. Dr. Au Yong was trained in commercial and investment banks. Prior to joining academia, she held managerial positions at Fortune 500 multinational corporations and a state agency, managing the information system, environment safety & health, supply chain & logistics and compliance risk management. Furthermore, she is journal editor and reviewer, and published over 100 papers and other publications. She has received over USD150,000 of research grants from local and abroad. She was a Monbukagakusho Scholar and awarded the Malaysian Institute of Management Tun Razak Youth Leadership Award, best oral presentation award and best paper awards.
