How has being on the Stanford List of Top 2% World Scientists impacted your professional career?

Prof. de Pablos: Being ranked on the Stanford List of Top 2% World Scientists made me feel very proud of this important research achievement. It also motivated me more to explore new topics of research, analyze their complexities, interconnections and potential impact (social, economic and policy levels). In addition, the inclusion in the ranking increased (even more) my commitment to continue working hard, together with my international research team, editing new books on emerging issues within my field of research.

What’s the inspiration behind your involvement in editing books and what inspired you to be the editor for the International Journal of Asian Business and Information Management (IJABIM)?

Prof. de Pablos: Asia has always attracted my interest and curiosity. My research interests were focused on Asia, and my readings and favorite tourist destinations were focused on this amazing region. When IGI Global offered me the great opportunity to develop and edit the International Journal of Asian Business and Information Management (IJABIM), I said yes immediately. I am very grateful to IGI Global, and in particular, to Ms. Jan Travers for this amazing opportunity of collaboration. Editing this journal has been an extraordinary way not only to learn about the editorial process of an academic title but also to expand my knowledge about Asia and extend my international network. I have to thank the editorial advisory board of the journal and books as well as the Associate Editors of the journal for their time and efforts.

What is your goal for your research and why is it important to this field?

Prof. de Pablos: My goal for my titles is searching for new and emergent topics in the field of business, management, and information technologies, with a special focus in the Asian region. I think it is important to give visibility to high-quality manuscripts covering crucial issues in these fields in Asia, for example, focused on Bhutan, Laos, or Myanmar. There is a deficit of high-quality publications on some topics with a focus on Asia, and it is important to fill this gap.

Who is the intended audience for your publications and who will benefit from this research?

Prof. de Pablos: The main audience of the titles I edited for IGI Global books are academics, researchers, and students. In addition, the books are useful for policy makers, professionals, and general reader. The new and emergent topics of the books attract a wide audience and contribute to gain a better understanding of complex transformations in economies and societies around the globe, especially in Asia.

Are there any specific areas of your research that your readers would find of interest?

Prof. de Pablos: The International Journal of Asian Business and Information Management (IJABIM) published and will publish special issues covering strategic issues for business and management, in specific Asian countries, like Bangladesh, Pakistan and Indonesia, or ASEAN. I am sure they will contribute to deepen our understanding of digital transformation, green technologies, circular economy and sustainability, among other issues, in this part of the world.
