FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hershey, PA—September 9, 2019- IGI Global announces Mr. Richard Illingworth as their new Director of Sales for Europe and the Middle East. Through this position, Richard will be helping disseminate access to IGI Global’s expanding portfolio of 5,300+ reference books and 185+ scholarly journals, with an extensive focus on IGI Global’s expansive line of InfoSci-Databases among libraries, consortium, and the research community throughout Europe and the Middle East.

With over 16 years of experience in working in the publishing and information service industry, Richard has worked with some of the world’s largest academic, corporate, and public sector suppliers across Europe, U.S., and Asia markets, enabling him to provide comprehensive research solutions. Before devoting his work fulltime to IGI Global, Richard served as Global Head of Sales for a UK-based start-up publisher and conducted an MBA from a leading UK school.

Embracing the core values of integrity, innovation, and growth, Richard consistently ranks as one of the leading sales professionals in the world of academia. He has won awards for strategic account management. He has also created and grown business in different academic sectors and has been nominated for “Best New Starter” in a number of organizations. “Successful sales individuals enjoy meeting with past, future, and new customers to understand needs and wants and/or to share industry knowledge and experience,” stated Richard Illingworth. “This approach creates a knowledge share that brings value to the customer beyond the art of selling. I am constantly learning, and I look forward to bringing my experience and insight to IGI Global.”

Acting as the key contact for library customers, stakeholders, and professional researchers within one of IGI Global’s largest markets, Mr. Illingworth will also work collaboratively with leading regional consortia including the following:

  • German National Library of Economics, also known as the Leibniz Information Center for Economics (ZBW), which is the world’s largest research infrastructure for economic literature.
  • Saudi Digital Library (SDL), the largest gathering of academic information in the Arab world.
Through Mr. Illingworth’s experience and insights, he will be able to provide institutions with the latest information regarding IGI Global along with customized information regarding libraries’ accounts.
