This piece is focused on highlighting one of IGI Global's highly cited open access journals and contains insights from our Expert Editorial Team, including Ms. Lindsay Wertman, Managing Director, and Marissa Massare, Editorial Assistant.
The International Journal of Business Intelligence Research (IJBIR) was established in 2010 and is one of IGI Global’s top open access business journals. It began publishing all gold open access (OA) research in 2021 with content retroactively opened dating back to the 2020 volume year. The journal’s editor-in-chief, Prof. Shah J. Miah of The University of Newcastle, Australia, is a professor of business analytics at Newcastle Business School. He was previously an associate professor of information systems in the Victoria University Business School, Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Miah received his doctoral degree from Griffith University, Australia, in business decision support systems.
IJBIR’s editor-in-chief emeritus, Prof. William Yeoh, Deakin University, Australia, spearheaded the initial launch of the journal and has aided in the creation of a well-rounded editorial board. Associate editors of IJBIR hail from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, and Papua New Guinea. The editorial review board members also have vast international representation, including countries like Egypt, Czech Republic, Turkey, Portugal, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, India, Philippines, Italy, Germany, and China.
IJBIR, indexed in Scopus, Inspec, ACM Digital Library, Library & Information Science Abstracts (LISA), and many more, is dedicated to publishing emerging academic research on aspects of managing business intelligence in organizations.

If interested in submitting an article manuscript to IJBIR for consideration, you can begin the submission process through our eEditorial Discovery® system. As a gold OA journal, an article processing charge (APC) is required, however, will not be requested until AFTER the article manuscript has undergone the full double-blind peer review process and is accepted into the journal (Note: If an article manuscript is rejected, there will be no APC fee requested). The APC fee, US $1,500, paid directly to IGI Global by either the author or a funding body, offsets the costs associated with publishing an article under OA. IGI Global does have funding options available for those who may encounter difficulties securing APC funding. Learn more about our funding opportunities on our OA Publishing webpage.
