Technology Innovation Spotlight: OCEANIA

Oceania is the smallest continent in the world, yet still remains a recognized innovator in many areas of information science and technology, leading the world in industries such as solar power development, sustainable resources, and space science research. With a population of approximately 38 million, its number of universities is estimated around 70. Current areas of trending research include the fields of Business, Digital Media, and Environmental Development. Oceania has been the source of many innovations, scientific discoveries, and inventions. Some of their greatest achievements in science and technology include the invention of the black box flight recorder, spray-on regenerative skin technology, the electronic pacemaker, disposable syringes, and Google maps.

IGI Global is proud to partner with Oceania innovators on several levels. With nearly 6,000 affiliates spanning Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and outlying islands, our Oceanian authors and editors advance and support the quality academic content that IGI Global has become known for. These scholars hail from some of the world's greatest research facilities and universities, including Massey University, Auckland University of Technology, Bindura University of Science Education, Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology, University of Auckland, University of Canterbury, Victoria University of Wellington, and more.

IGI Global is also honored to work with influential Oceania partners and researchers from major institutions around the country, including Kobo, iGroup Australia, EMpact Australia, James Bennett, Co Info, Wheelers, and more. To promote innovation to the Oceania region, IGI Global is partnering with EPIC Consortia to bring emerging technology research to all New Zealand libraries - public, school, government and academic.
