Abstract

The authors in this chapter have put in efforts to throw light on optimization of power through the emerging technology- Smart Grid. The chapter has been divided in part which cover each section associated with the smart grid. The chapter starts with the knowhow of the system and goes till the implementation challenges. The authors have focused on the challenges associated, like cyber security, interconnection, power quality and many more. The challenges have been discussed with its significance. The most emerging technology to be harnessed to maximum, authors have also dealt with the possible solutions to the problems prevalent in the implementation of the smart grid technology. Generally the problem with the frame work has been with the integration and data handling. The chapter will help the researchers to further investigate the associated area of smart grid and find solutions to problems in smart grid.
