Abstract

This book chapter explores the imperative for hotels to fully embrace sustainable competitive advantage principles through the integration of green human resource management (HRM), digital transformation, blockchain, and organisational learning. The interdisciplinary approach is backed by an extensive literature review, emphasising the significance of green practices and organisational behaviour for the development of sustainable and responsible hospitality facilities. It uncovers literature evidence linking social identity and social exchange antecedents to green organisational citizenship behaviour and deepens the theoretical integration of these concepts within hotel environmental perspectives. While some research touches on the direct relationship of Green HRM, green transformational leadership, as well as green organisational identity with green organisational citizenship behaviour, the underlying mechanisms influencing the implementation of sustainable supply chain management strategies by hotels and their sustainable competitive advantage is explored in this book chapter.
