Abstract

The chapter presents the regional development initiatives that are impacting the planning process at the national level. This concerns mainly the African Union agenda 2063. It also presents how the Word Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) and Global Geospatial Information Management (GGIM) are monitored at the regional level and how the Africa Land Policy Initiative is advancing the land governance in Africa. The chapter describes the challenges of aligning these regional agendas with the international ones in the national development frameworks.
