Abstract

Experience shows that the implementation of the MMM model in developing countries requires the consideration of specific feature of these countries. In this chapter, first, the frameworks and models of maintenance excellence are reviewed. Of course, the purpose of this chapter is not to compare these models. Then, the characteristics of maintenance in developing countries is explained. Then, the “iREAM3 framework” based on the “MMM model” and concepts of asset management in industries and organization of developing countries is presented, which is compatible with the characteristics of these countries and has been implemented, developed, and updated in some organization in these countries. Then, how it covers the ISO 55000 standard clauses is explained. In the following, the method and principles of evaluating the organization and the requirements of preparing a suitable roadmap for excellence are introduced. Finally, the audit results of implementation iREAM3 framework in these countries are presented in some companies, organizations, and industries from different fields.
