Abstract

The ratio analyses are used to evaluate firms in the sector. Similarities and the differences between the DAP calculated ratios and the investment firm calculated ratios are shown. Companies are compared among each other and with the sector. Automated calculations and potential robo advisory directions are proposed. Auto calculations and comparisons are found to be reliable after 2018. Suggestions for the improvement of computer-assisted calculations are given. There are alternative ways to avoid bankruptcy and concordat. Also, there are choices between bankruptcy procedures, liquidation, and restructuring. The DAP is a useful tool to investigate a sector as a whole, but it is not enough to decide whether a firm failure is close or not. The given 35 equations on the financials of companies are powerful tools but not enough to decide. Policies play a key role in the agri-food industry worldwide. The effects of these policies cannot be observed by just looking at the financial statements.
