Abstract

Parkinson's disease (PD) has many different symptoms that can be challenging for both patients and doctors, but recently, doctors and scientists have made a lot of progress in treating PD. This chapter talks about how computers and artificial intelligence (AI) can help manage PD. Later on, the authors discuss how wearable devices and apps on smartphones can help treat and manage PD. AI is defined, and there are examples of how AI helps doctors. The chapter then explains different ways AI could help people with PD. AI might also predict how PD will get worse and how well treatments will work. The chapter also talks about using AI to understand PD better by looking at brain images from MRI scans. Protecting people's privacy is essential, as is making ethical use of AI. Also, the authors show actual cases of how AI is currently assisting people who have PD. They look at how AI and medical expertise can revolutionize the treatment of PD. People with PD may benefit from medical and AI professionals working together.
