Abstract

This case is structured around one of the popular e-commerce sites in India, Snapdeal. Since its inception in 2010, Snapdeal has witnessed a lot of peaks and valleys. This case sheds light on the trajectory of Snapdeal's business and also provides brief information on Indian customers in terms of internet usage patterns. This case also discusses some of the successful marketing campaigns undertaken by the company; some which invited unwanted controversies. At one point, the company was on the verge of being taken over by competitors. This case also examines the reasons which lead to discomfort among its investors. The case leaves the reader to explore the possible course of action that needs to be followed to sustain the business and ultimately overcome the challenges posed by its contemporaries and the current market conditions.
