The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) has unveiled myriad possibilities and advancements, yet it brings forth critical sustainability challenges that demand immediate attention. This chapter employs a bibliometric approach to elucidate the intricate landscape of sustainability challenges within the realm of AI. By analysing a comprehensive array of scholarly works, this study aims to navigate through the complexities inherent in sustainable AI development. The bibliometric analysis provides a panoramic view of the prevailing issues, enabling a structured understanding of environmental, societal, and ethical dilemmas posed by AI proliferation. Insights gleaned from this study offer valuable pathways for stakeholders, policymakers, and researchers to address and mitigate the sustainability challenges entwined with the exponential growth of AI technology.
