Introduction

Opinion mining is the use of analytic methods to extract information from sources such as literary books, news, movies, social media comments, reviews, tweets, etc. It utilizes text analytic techniques to detect, classify, and predict the emotion and sentiment orientation of a text. Opinion mining contributes to the arena of knowledge discovery and data mining (KDD) which applies analytical techniques to factual text. Text analytics or text mining, is the methodology and process that allows machines to derive quality information and insights from textual data. This book focuses on opinion mining using text analytics techniques in literary works such as (novels, poems, auto-biographies, etc.) and social media as the textual data.

Objective

The main purpose of this book is to use artificial intelligence and big data analytics to conduct opinion mining and text analytics on literary works and social media. This book will focus on theories, method, applications and approaches of data analytic techniques that can be used to extract and analyze data from literary books and social media, in a meaningful pattern. Furthermore, this book aims to develop theories, big data analytic methods, and data mining approaches in Opinion Mining & Text Analytics. Although there are different existing books which introduce text mining and data mining approaches. This book aims to introduce theories, methods, and analytical approaches to reduce the risk of subjective analyses of literary books and social media.

Target Audience

The main target audience is the researchers, students, lecturers, in the fields of Data Science, Computer Sciences, Literary Studies, Social Sciences and Humanities. The book can be used to teach data science, computer sciences specially text analytics, social and behavioral sciences, and digital humanities courses. Libraries can buy the book for educational purposes.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before August 20, 2021, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by August 21, 2021 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters are expected to be submitted by October 18, 2021, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Opinion Mining and Text Analytics on Literary Works and Social Media. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process.
