Introduction

The last few decades have been marked by increasingly complex global challenges, such as climate change, social inequality and pressure for more responsible use of natural resources. In this scenario, organizations face the need to rethink their traditional practices, adopting strategies that balance economic, social and environmental objectives. The intersection between accounting, taxation, finance and sustainability also emerges as a critical field for the development of innovative and integrated solutions. Accounting, traditionally focused on recording and analyzing financial information, also plays a crucial role in measuring and disseminating sustainability practices. On the other hand, taxation offers regulatory instruments and economic incentives that can direct the behavior of companies in pursuit of financial and sustainable objectives. Finances, in turn, are essential to make investments viable, such as clean technologies, ethical business practices and positive social impact initiatives. This book aims to explore how these interrelated areas can be advanced to promote a more resilient and sustainable future. Through a scientific and practical approach, it seeks to present theoretical frameworks, innovative strategies and case studies that illustrate how organizations from different sectors can integrate accounting, taxation, financial operations, and sustainability. Furthermore, we discuss the regulatory challenges and opportunities outlined by the increasing relevance of the Environmental, Social, and Governance and Circular Economy criteria. The purpose is to provide an open and interdisciplinary vision that enables managers, academics and professionals to face the challenges of a world in constant transformation.

Objective

The main objective of the book is to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge, in three important business areas, namely management, accounting and auditing. This Book welcomes and encourages articles from both academics and practitioners. Empirical and theoretical articles will be accepted, in order to reach various audiences and a diversity of topics. It is expected to have a high impact, as sustainable development and business sustainable practices are on the agenda of key economic decision makers. Thus, there is a need to better understand the contributions of organizations to sustainable development and the way in which the areas of management, accounting and auditing can be integrated.
