Introduction

The rapid integration of robots, artificial intelligence (AI), and expert systems into organizational settings—both public and private—has steered in a new era of Human-Robot Collaboration (HRC). Organizations are increasingly deploying these advanced technologies alongside human workforces to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and innovate service delivery. This collaboration between humans and machines offers immense potential to redefine business models, improve efficiency, and address complex challenges. However, it also introduces significant hurdles, including workforce adaptation, ethical considerations, and the reshaping of organizational structures and cultures. This edited book seeks to explore the multifaceted dynamics of HRC within organizations, examining how these collaborations influence business processes, organizational change, and operational strategies. We invite ongoing research and case studies from diverse sectors—ranging from manufacturing and healthcare to public administration and service industries—to shed light on the evolving relationship between humans and robotic systems.

Objective

The primary aim of this edited volume is to:
• Investigate the opportunities and challenges posed by HRC in organizational contexts.
• Analyze how HRC influences business processes, organizational models, and workforce dynamics.
• Highlight practical implementations of robots, AI, and expert systems alongside human teams.
• Provide insights into the future of work in organizations embracing HRC.

This edited book is intended for:
• Academic researchers and students in fields such as organizational studies, robotics, AI, and management.
• Practitioners and decision-makers in public and private organizations implementing HRC.
• Policymakers and consultants interested in the societal and economic impacts of automation.
