Introduction

The book Semiconductors, Energy, and Artificial Intelligence: Innovation for a Sustainable Future aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors in the energy sector. It will explore their applications in renewable energy, storage systems, electromobility, and other fields that could significantly impact future sustainability and environmental preservation. By integrating AI tools and advanced semiconductor technologies, the book will highlight opportunities for optimizing energy consumption, improving electrical system sustainability, and addressing potential energy crises caused by increasing electricity demand. Furthermore, the book will focus on how these innovations enhance strategic decision-making, facilitating a transition toward clean energy sources and efficient technologies with a positive social impact. Key themes include reducing CO2 emissions, mitigating environmental effects, and implementing innovative strategies to enhance efficiency in supply chains. This will cover optimizing manufacturing processes, improving productivity and sustainability, and ensuring effective product lifecycle management, from design and production to final disposal. Elsewhere the energy sector, the book will address the application of AI and semiconductors in sustainability-related fields such as agriculture, water resource management, circular economy, and smart cities. It will explore how AI-driven automation, advanced semiconductor-based sensors, and emerging materials contribute to environmental sustainability and economic efficiency. Special emphasis will be placed on public policies, regulations, and education, ensuring that AI and semiconductor advancements.

Objective

The objective of this book is to provide a comprehensive vision of how artificial intelligence and semiconductors can drive sustainability across various sectors. By presenting research, case studies, and emerging trends, the book aims to demonstrate the role of AI in optimizing energy efficiency and sustainability, explore how semiconductors enable technological advancements in energy storage, electromobility, and smart infrastructure, examine the integration of AI and semiconductors in fields such as agriculture, water management, and circular economy, provide insights into the impact of AI and semiconductor advancements on climate change mitigation and resilience, and highlight the importance of education, human capital development, and policy frameworks in fostering a sustainable technological transition.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before May 4, 2025, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by May 18, 2025 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters of a minimum of 10,000 words (word count includes references and related readings) are expected to be submitted by August 17, 2025, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-anonymized review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
